I have two metal knobs on my dash, and my phone, ipod, and now my ipad all have magnets on the back.

the ipad using a gesture controlled music player is a big upgrade over the ipod classic

and some pics of magnets and knobs and other configurations

the magnets are flush mounted through the case on my phone and ipad

Did you come up with this yourself or is it a known method? Because that’s pretty damn clever.

Hope it doesn't get stolen... like the typical set of Honda wheels...

yes and no. the magnets are from an intended phone mount. but i ditched their garbage balls, and use two for the ipad

the use of magnets is so it is easy to throw in and take out. I take my ECU with me (I’m aware that is nuts) so grabbing the ipad is no biggie. the wheels though, one feels confident they will go at some point. I’ve help more than a few honda friends by lending my wheels to bring their car home after losing their wheels

I take my ECU with me

Please explain.

Also, what did you use for the mounting points, are those bolts?

my ecu has a quick disconnect, and is rewired so only my ecu will work.

and yes, bolts indeed, they allow for depth adjustment and by adjusting one out to set an angle.
